This is the main page in the 4E Eberron campaign to be a direct follow-up to the epic game also set in that world that used the 3.5E rules. This game is not a “sequel” per se, and it is not a prequel. It is another story set in the same world, using similar characters. The world-shaking events involving the Githyanki Lich Queen Vlaakith CLVII, the dragon Nymmbrixion, and the Lords of Dust cultists from the last campaign happen, and they changed the very nature of the universe. Far from being the end of their troubles, the events of the last campaign have affected all of time and space, and the true ripple effect of the consequences from those adventures are just now being felt.
The characters begin the campaign incarcerated in Dreadhold. The adventure starts as the party is charged with recovering escaped prisoners and returning them to the inescapable island prison of Dreadhold, run by the dwarves of House Kundarak. After a daring lightning rail chase and quick thinking to recover the convicts, they immediately find themselves imprisoned along with the fugitives, and now they desperately need to escape themselves. Far removed from the rest of the continent, Dreadhold rests on an isolated outcropping of rock in the far eastern Lhazaar Principalities.
- Yes, prisoners.
Eberron is a campaign setting for the Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game, set in a period after a vast destructive war on the continent of Khorvaire. Eberron is designed to accommodate traditional D&D elements and races within a differently toned setting; Eberron combines a fantasy tone with pulp and dark adventure elements, and some non-traditional fantasy technologies such as trains, skyships, and mechanical beings which are all powered by magic.
